George Topping

George Topping is an experienced mining professional with more than 30 years of practical and analytical experience, recognized for his expertise across multiple commodities and listed mining equities. 

He studied Mining Engineering in Scotland, earning his BSc, before beginning his career in South Africa. George spent over a decade managing underground production and mining operations, earning hands-on experience that continues to inform his perspective on how capital decisions are implemented at the site level. 

Following his operational career, George spent over 25 years in the Canadian capital markets covering mining equities. He is a respected mining analyst and held senior roles, most recently at iA Capital Markets. He also served as CEO of Wolfden Resources and currently serves as a Director of Honey Badger Silver (TUF.V). 

Across his career, George has observed how controlled capital investment, when aligned with operational circumstances, can materially support production growth and long-term value creation in mining companies.   

As Senior Mining Advisor to the CapEx360® for Mining R&D Team, George provides international and cross-disciplinary experience to inform the ongoing development of the platform, ensuring it reflects how mining organizations plan, manage and allocate capital across the project lifecycle.
